The educational curriculum is conducted by introducing and building students' critical power on theories and relevant instruments with regional and rural development. The study load is equivalent to minimum 40 credits with 32 credits for lectures and 8 credits for the thesis and seminars that are all spread over 4 (four) semesters.

Semester I: four compulsary subjects = 12 credits

  2. Theories of Inclusive Rural Development (3 cr)
  3. Political Economy of Rural Development (3 cr)
  4. Development Management (3 cr)

Semester II: five compulsary subjects = 12 credits

  1. Research Methods (3 cr)
  2. Regional Economy (2 cr)
  3. Regional and Rural Development Planning (3 cr)
  4. Studio of Planning and Analytical Instrumen for Rural Development (2 cr)
  5. Statistic for social economy (2 cr)

Semester III: three compulsary subjects and two elective subjects = 11 credits

(a) three compulsary subjects = 5 credits

  1. Public Policy (3 cr)
  2. Glady Karya (Directed Independent Study) (1 cr)
  3. Seminar of Research Proposal (Colloquium) (1 cr)

(b) two elective subjects for PEP (Rural Economic Development)concentration = 6 credits

  1. Management of local resources (3 cr)
  2. Economic risk management and social security (3 cr)
  3. Local capacity building (3 cr)
  4. Community empowerment (3 cr)
  5. Social entrepreneurship (3 cr)

 (c) two elective subjects for ODPP (Autonomy and Public Services) concentration = 6 credits

  1. Local politic and management of public resources (3 cr)
  2. System of public services (3 cr)
  3. Management and administration of public services (3 cr)
  4. Governmental devolution and regional autonomy (3 cr)
  5. Management of community based development (3 cr)

Semester IV: two compulsary subjects = 7 credits

  1. Seminar of thesis (1 cr)
  2. Thesis (6 cr)

Students who are not coming from relevant study program of their undergraduate degree, may be assigned to take Matriculation course for these three subjects:

Educational curriculum of this Master degree program is organized in Credit System. Total study load of this program are 38 - 44 credits including thesis for four academic semesters (2 years). Lectures and other academic activities are conducted with the guidance of qualified lecturers, and is held in the Graduate Building Building of Andalas University Campus Unand Limau Manis Padang.

Semester I : four compulsary and one elective subjects = 13 credits

(a) four compulsary subjects = 11 credits

  2. Economic Principles of NRM(3 cr)
  3. Quantitative Research Design for NRM (2 cr)
  4. Ecological Principles of NRM (3 cr)
